Education

Mateslab Education is an inner area of the mateslab hackspace. Our goal is to help spread free knowledge among those interested in learning and to organize and facilitate the educational events.

We believe that education should be free of charge to everyone with the will to learn. Access to the knowledge is a human right.

Among our task are:
  • Organize talks and workshops in the MatesLab space.
  • Give talks in other organizations.
  • Promote the free access to knowledge.

BioHacking Workshop

En el MatesLab tuvo lugar un curso de biohacking dictado por la Lic. Pamela Lamenza. 
El BioHacking o DIYBio (biología 'hazlo tu mismo') es un movimiento que nació hace varios años uniendo la biología y el hacking. Busca permitir que todas las personas puedan jugar, aprender y crear con los aspectos más avanzados y lindos de la biología. Busca llevar todos los tipos de biología a la gente y permitir que nuevos caminos libres se abran.
El taller tocó temas de biología molecular como extracción de ADN, bioleds, PCR, medidas de seguridad y todas las cosas necesarias para que puedas jugar en el mateslab. El taller fue gratuito y abierto, para que puedas preguntar y embeberte en todos estos temas.
El BioHacking busca dar a las personas control sobre las técnicas más avanzadas de biología, sacándola de los laboratorios académicos. Busca incentivar el juego, la exploración y la creatividad realizando proyecto como modificar geneticamente una bacteria para que brille en la oscuridad.
La Licenciada Pamela Lamenza es bióloga molecular y actualmente está terminando su PhD en la UNICEN.

On Saturday 28, April 2012, we gave a talk on Flisol 2012 here in Mar del Plata. Thanks to gulbac, we could give a small talk about how to begin using arduino.

Ekoparty 2010

We created and prepared a wireless workshop in the Ekoparty conference. It was a biquad wireless antenna workshop. A lot of people attended!

The Mateslab team join the 350.org movement in Mar del plata to help raise awareness about climate change.

Penetration Test Course

We give an advanced penetration test course on 18th August 2012 for the community on the MatesLab.
It was a hands-on course were we learn and share great moments!

 

Hackaton

On July 7th, 2012 we have our first hackaton in the Mateslab. Two days full of projects, people and fun! We even stream it online!
